Roux at The Landau
My words: Roux is the synonym of “Chef of des Chefs de Cuisine in Britain”. It is a story about two brothers, Michel and Albert who with passion for French cuisine and Pâtisserie, together they built their empire in Britain; the first three Michelin starred, after the opening of “Le Gavroche”. The founders of the “Roux Brothers Scholarship”, (2019 winner, a young Sous-Chef from The Ritz) and finally the restaurant owners of the “Roux at The Landau” and “Roux at Parliament Square”. The generation and legacy are carried on by the sons, Michel Jr. and Alain. The details on the website.
The Roux at The Landau was for me a very unique experience, first of all, because I do love the movie “Burnt” with Bradley Cooper, by the way, the story has nothing to do with the Roux brothers, the story of the movie is fiction. Before I write the menu, I would like to thank Luigi, Restaurant Manager, Andrea, the Sommelier and the entire staff for the kindness, attention to detail, and for the many surprises and my gift. Thank you very much!
Photos not in order:
*Cornish crab ravioli, leek, Rouille sauce, lobster bisque.
*Buccleuch beef rib eye, salt baked beetroot, ox cheek, sauce “Royale”. The sauce Royale is made out of paté, chicken liver; strong umami taste, the ox cheek was shredded perfectly and it melts in your mouth.
*Pear soufflé, whisky ice cream.
