Chardonnay-Au Bon Climat Wild Boy, California

An extrovert Californian Chardonnay, very well articulated notes of pineapple, bergamot, peaches followed by honeysuckle notes on the nose. This stunning aromas will then gradually join to a refreshing nutty taste in the finish. Medium bold and a gentle acidity, Wild Boy will grow into a Wise Man in time.

Wine: Wild Boy.

Variety & Vintage: Chardonnay, 2018.

Winemaker: Jim Clendenen.

Winery: Au Bon Climat.

Origin: Santa Maria Valley AVA in Santa Barbara County, California, USA.

Good to know:

-

Au Bon Climat wineries are located just North of Los Angeles, around the river Santa Maria. The climate is cool, due to the ocean breeze. It is actually so cold after June, that the growing season is long and calm. It is known that the Chardonnays in Central Coast are high in acidity. Wild Boy’s acidity felt very round and delicate to my taste. A must try American Chardonnay.
